Pre-War Marine Band Harmonica

I have wanted Pre-War Marine Band for some time. I recently obtained one that is basically the same construction as the current model. It does have the back edges bent in and it sounds great. Thin I stumbled on this one on E-bay. It is from at least the 20's. Note the "mouse ears" where the nails are found. The harp is in pretty decent shape and is quite playable. It sounds really good. I don't know if it is the tuning, construction or just nostalgia but I like these much better than the current models.

I've never heard of this guy

I have heard of the harmonica player but the guitar player is the one I was impressed with. Steve Baker is pretty well known in Harmonica Circles. He even has his own model of Hohner Harmonicas. I have never heard of Chris Jones. I am impressed with ability to incorporate many modern acoustic techniques into the blues setting. I think that many blues players are stuck in the past and are to afraid to push the genre forwards. Chris Jones seems to be one person who was able to respect the past and add something new. Unfortunately, shortly after first seeing him on YouTube, I found out he has already left us. Here is a link to his tribute site. http://www.masterpicker-chrisjones.com/
